Day 1: Basel

Basel is a cultural center in the heart of Europe, beaming with over 40 museums, countless galleries, stages and small theaters. With a beautiful and well-maintained historic city center, cozy spots and a large selection of restaurants and bars, Basel enjoys a high standard of living. Innovative research, a dynamic economy and architectural highlights paired with a rich history grant the city its unique allure. You will fall in love with this city during a special tour of its hot spots. Prior to enjoying a typical Basel dinner, you will take a ferry ride on the Rhine River and visit small boutique shops. The day draws to a close with an overnight stay in Basel.

Day 2: Basel – Strasbourg

Exciting bus trip to Strasbourg. Strasbourg is often called the intersection of Europe, and for good reason: The magnificent city of Alsace is deeply rooted within both German and French culture. As the seat of numerous European institutions, the city plays a central role in modern-day Europe. During a city tour, you will get the chance to discover the narrow lanes, beautiful squares and stunning buildings. A trip to the Strasbourg Cathedral, a wonderful example of powerful, gothic architecture, as well as the sights and sounds of the romantic Tanner’s District will leave you inspired. On a boat tour on the Ill, you will discover a new part of the city and the European Parliament. The day ends with an exquisite dinner.

Day 3: Strasbourg – the Wine Route – Colmar – Basel

After breakfast, you will depart from Strasbourg by bus and head along the famous Wine Route in the direction of Colmar. First, you will visit Odilienberg, the holy mountain of Alsace. You can enjoy an amazing view of the Rhine Valley and Black Forest from the terrace. On the Route, you will travel through provincial wine villages like Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr and stop along the way to enjoy breathtaking sites and, of course, a wine degustation. Around lunchtime, you will reach picturesque Colmar, a city that captivates with its fairytale houses, well-maintained historic city center and local charm. In the afternoon, you will take a trip to the Ecomusée d’Alsace  (Alsace Heritage Museum). This open-air rustic museum pairs roughly 70 traditional half-timbered houses from the 12th through the 19th centuries with the appropriate workshops.

In the evening, you will return to Basel.
