Detailed Trip Description:
Day 1: From the Historic Vault Cellar to Maison Kammerzell
Arrival in Strasbourg and hotel check-in before we meet with our tour guide. Enjoy a wine tasting in the vault cellar of a historic restaurant – a delicious aperitif and unique opportunity to taste the wines of the Alsace, such as Muscat, Riesling and Gewürztraminer.
A 3-course dinner awaits you in the nearby Maison Kammerzell, a fifteenth-century timber-frame house that has become something of an institution. Its specialty: world-famous sauerkraut with an assortment of fine fish (alternative dish: sauerkraut platter).
Day 2: From the Market Square to the “Crocodile”
The hustle and bustle of the market and a visit to the city centre. Your trip begins at Palais Rohan with a relaxing boat tour around the city center followed by a world-class three-course meal at the famous Crocodile restaurant. The Crocodile is one of the most famous Meccas of fine cuisine in France. It’s even been awarded a coveted MICHELIN star. Chef de cuisine Philippe Bohrer learned his trade from Paul Bocuse and prepared meals for the French president before taking over this restaurant. So take your time – and enjoy!
There is an open program in the afternoon for strolling through the Alsatian metropolis and enjoying a bit of shopping. The evening entertainment is a fabulous dinner at the Royal Palace, one of the best cabaret theaters in France, complete with a live band, dancing, and of course the show. Around midnight, a bus transfer is available back to your accommodation (or alternative transportation for an additional fee).
Day 3: Departure
Departure or additional day on the famous Wine Route.
