Situated not far from Haut-Koenigsbourg, Kintzheim Castle was first mentioned in 1270. Beautifully restored, the castle’s ruins, which consist of a round keep, stately living quarters, a vaulted cellar, a chapel, and Gothic and Renaissance windows, are a magnificent sight to behold. Today, the castle is home to the Volerie des Aigles or Flight of the Eagles experience – a gripping spectacle during which the world’s largest birds of prey fly completely free just a few centimeters from the audience.
- The Bird of Prey Sanctuary offers guests the rare opportunity to observe the largest, most graceful birds in the world with the hope that these demonstrations will touch the people in the audience and impress upon them the importance of the sanctuary’s workd and how vital biodiversity and the conservation of species is for our planet.
