Every December for 2 years now, the MS Heinrich Heine has been docking in the port at Strasbourg – only a few minutes’ drive from the city’s famous Christmas markets. The elegant riverboat offers 55 double-bed cabins, a well-stocked bar, a restaurant, library and indoor pool with sauna facilities! Detailed Trip Description
Day 1: Arrival in Strasbourg
City tour and visits to the famous Strasbourg Christmas markets set up around the cathedral and the market square at city hall (Rathausplatz). Dinner and overnight stay aboard the MS Heinrich Heine.
Day 2: Day tour of the Alsatian Wine Trail
Mid-morning visit to the Fortwenger Gingerbread Bakery in Gertwiller, where guests get the chance to design their own gingerbread man. Afterwards, you will be taken to Riquewihr for a wine tasting followed by a city tour of Colmar and a visit to the medieval Christmas market. Dinner aboard the MS Heinrich Heine followed by live music and dance in the ship’s bar give guests a pleasant way to wind down in the evening.
Day 3: Return home
Do some last-minute shopping in the pottery town of Soufflenheim and the outlet center in Roppenheim before the trip back home in the early afternoon.
